We start and end this CHALLENGE difficulty tour in Mérida. Highlights include flamingos, Mayan ruins and modern Mayan villages, colonial towns and cities, cenotes and caves. We'll see parts of the Yucatan that tourists never visit. This tour can be linked with "Yucatan's Beaches and Ruins" before it to make a 4½ week tour, or with "Yucatan to the Clouds" after it to make a 6 week tour.
Archive note: NEW in 2003. No tour pages survive; known only from tours listings. Merida-based backroads loop; concept was reworked into Roaming Backroads Yucatan.
